Abstract

The curriculum is an important component of the education system to assist an educator in providing a lesson plan at the educational level such as at the first school education level. Physical education subjects are subjects that have several aspects of fitness, lifestyle, movement skills and others. The curriculum is a guideline for the implementation of learning to achieve certain educational goals such as junior secondary education. This study has a purpose to examine how the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in learning physical education, sports, and health at the junior high school level. The method used in this research is a literature study method, with the type of qualitative research and utilizing secondary data. The 2013 curriculum is a competency-based curriculum and its character. PJOK is one of the subjects that become character education subjects in the 2013 curriculum. The 2013 curriculum in PJOK learning has been implemented in junior high schools in various cities such as schools in the cities of Banjarbaru and Medan. However, in education, physical, sports, and health learning, there are obstacles in the application of learning, regarding learning methods for applying 5M, reflection, limited facilities and infrastructure. Lack of evaluation, inefficient allocation of learner time. Teachers have limited teaching manuals, and the lack of following the 2013 curriculum upgrading for physical education, sports, and health specifically from the relevant government.
